I’ve done it, you guys. I’ve made the big time. I’ve been featured in a magazine.
As
I was thumbing through issue 256 of Cross Stitcher I saw
it.
The name Allison caught my eye so I took another look. Low and
behold, it was my name. Are you ready to see by big debut?
HAha! I bet you thought I was actually featured in a magazine for doing something more creative than composing a tweet - a tweet in which I lament my lack of time to do anything creative. Sweet irony.
It
is actually one of my dreams to be in a magazine. I don’t
actually know how you get to do that. Are you discovered? Or maybe you submit your work? I don't know. It's on my someday list.
Until then, I might just have to frame this. It's too funny not to.

Congratulations. You'll get there someday.
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo cute. Your still a step ahead the rest. Don't worry someday your chance will come.
ReplyDeleteRooting for you,
Cody @Solemn Sound
That made me smile...I'd be pretty excited too though!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I haven't seen this one in stores yet. It's secret dream of mine too even though it scares me at the same time. I'll have to keep tweeting to have a shot f getting in though, I'm not even close to creative enough!
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's awesome! Good thing you noticed it . . . you'd think they'd shoot you a tweet or an email to let you know! But now they know your name--give it a few months and you'll be running the place.
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute. It is a start, right? :)
ReplyDeleteYey for you - I love Cross Stitcher magazine!
ReplyDeleteHa! You had me going there :) But it's not far-fetched at all...you'll get in a magazine and I won't be surprised!
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh! Your crafts and photography are totally magazine worthy--I heart your blog!!
ReplyDeleteJust take the leap and submit some of your work! One evening about a year and a half ago, I saw a post on Facebook that Scrapbooks, Etc. was looking for winter layouts and they needed to be submitted by midnight. I had some pics from an ice storm we had back in '07 that I just loved, so I jumped up and threw together a two page layout and sent it off in the nick of time. My first submission ever. THEY PUBLISHED IT! It was in the February issue:

(I'm surprised it still shows up. I figured once they closed up shop, the website would be completely shut down.)
Anyway, I guess it was beginner's luck, because I've submitted other pieces to SBE and other magazines, but haven't even had a nibble! lol Give it a shot--maybe beginner's luck will work for you, too!
