So, no pinned it, did it project today. I could blame it on the fact that it has been gloomy, therefore bad lighting, therefore no pictures... but that would be a bad excuse considering I haven't even made a project to photograph.
I tried to get myself motivated to make something by organizing some of my supplies - namely, my ever growing stash of embroidery floss.
I didn't get very far, other than piling everything up. Anderson's drill was dead so I couldn't
use my self-declared genius method of winding all my thread. I just
quit and went back upstairs to curl up in bed and watch tv while I
waited for Sawyer to wake up from his nap.
I like this picture. It's kind of how I feel like my life is right now. Half of it is organized and lined up, half needs a lot of work, but beautiful regardless of the messiness.
This post is weird, isn't it? I'm just lacking a bit of motivation to do much of anything, I think. I'll get it together sometime. Until then, I think I will enjoy reading a book or two and slowing down.
I believe when you start seeing the meaning of life in embroidery thread it is time to slow down.

Allison- I totally understand! Sometimes you just say its ok to take a break! The photo is still really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAllison, At times I need to change my direction to refuel my creativity. :) Paula
ReplyDeleteOh.....I think your going to get a lot of understanding here!!!! You pretty much just discribed my life right now to a T!!!! It is good to take a deep breath!!! And spring is on it's way......Happy Day to you!!!!
ReplyDeleteLol this post is great! It's about where my life is at right now too, including the messy thread!
ReplyDeleteLOL you kill me!
ReplyDeleteBut yes, it is a bright, beautiful sign to slow down and veg :)
I love this post! Definitely take some time for yourself and relax. I think when you start feeling like you HAVE to craft/DIY/sew just to have something to post about, you need a break. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely post :-) Enjoy your little break to recharge!
ReplyDeleteI understand! Just slow down and take some time to catch your breath and kiss your adorable baby! Everyone will be here when you get back! Kick your feet up, make a cup of tea, and enjoy your family! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya! I've been lacking motivation lately, and have only stuck to knitting as my creative outlet. Although I've been itching to do something different, I didn't know what until I saw your handprint keepsake post. I'm crossing my fingers that I can take a sans-child fabric shopping trip this weekend and get started ASAP. Thanks for the motivation!
ReplyDeleteLove the comparison to embroidery thread...even though it may not be organized/perfect it's still beautiful!
