five things friday: pretty fonts

Happy Friday! I am so happy to see another work week down. I think I say that a lot, but I feel like every Friday is a small victory.

I am such a weirdo, but I have to tell you this despite the major dork alert. Every Friday, as I walk out of the office in the afternoon, and I feel that first breath of fresh air hit me as I open the doors to face two whole days off, I feel like I should be in a sitcom opening theme. Bouncy, triumphant, full of hope and ready to take on the world. I basically see myself as Mary Tyler Moore in the opening credits - HA! (If you aren't familiar with the Mary Tyler Moore opening credit theme, watch it and picture me throwing my hat up at the end. That's what I feel like. Because when you throw your hat up in the air in the middle of the street you are ALIVE.)

Onto less weird things...

I am thinking about a blog redesign, so I am checking out some new colors, fonts, and design elements. I am really loving girly script fonts right now. (All of these were found on dafont.com.)

I'm off to enjoy my Friday night, cross stitching of course. Livin it up. Hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Yeah, Mary Tyler Moore! That's what I was thinking when you said you should be in the opening theme song of a sitcom! That's how I used to feel, too, when I worked outside the home.

Now that I work from my home office it's not nearly as refreshing as it used to be when the workday is over. No fresh air in my face, a cranky toddler just waking up from his nap, no break between work and home, and no tasty, fattening snacks to eat in the car with the windows rolled down on a nice day. I'm JEALOUS!!! lol

  2. I forgot to mention that I love 5th Grade Cursive. It's so 1950s!

  3. Want to know the fun fact I like to toss out during every "tell me something unique about yourself" getting-to-know-you activity? I met Mary Tyler Moore once! My mom used to own an antiques store in this teensy picturesque little town an hour out of NYC where a lot of celebrities had weekend houses, and one of the regulars in the store was Mary Tyler Moore. She actually collected those old antique tin stars that you see sometimes in home decor and my mom would always save them for her. That makes them sound like old buddies. Also, nice fonts :-) I love your blog design right now, but I'm already excited to see what new one you'll come up with!

    1. Rachel, you are so cool! Even your mom is cool, owning an antique store in a picturesque NY town. I love your "tell me something unique about yourself" story.

  4. I really like the 5th Grade Cursive! I've been scouring Design Seeds for color schemes for a maybe-someday blog redesign. I want to learn html code so I can do this stuff myself!

    1. I would like to learn it too - but my eyes cross when I even try. Pretty much I will choose colors, fonts, etc. that I like and leave it to a designer to work her magic. It might be a while before I get it done, but it is on the radar.

    1. Hm, yes, it does seem like all of the designers I have looked into focus on blogger or wordpress. I hope you can find someone affordable and stylish. Happy weekend to you too!
