This was such a quick, simple project that I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. If you click over to the original post by Twirling Betty, you can read just how she made her version of these genius washi tape magnets. I used her idea as a starting point and just used materials I had on hand.
I made these using adhesive magnet sheet, bought in a roll at Michael's. I believe the roll was $9.99 and I used a coupon on it, so it was $6.00 for a huge amount. Since I don't have any washi tape, I just used patterned paper from my scrap bin. Stick down the paper to the self-adhesive magnet and cut into strips. Cut ridgy ends to look like torn tape, and you are done and done.
I may have gone a bit overboard and made about 50 magnets.
Have you made anything from your pinboards lately? Share in the comments! I'd love to see.

darling! I love all the mixes of papers you used too - great collection!

Well done! I admit that I pin things casually, you know, here and there, and then rarely do them. I think I knit too much! lol
ReplyDeleteSo am I ridiculous to pin this? Lol. I'll try my utmost to do it. I've got everything on hand.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! What a great way to use up paper scraps I can't bare to throw out.

These are super cute!I'm going to have to give these a try. They'd look sooooo much better than the icky pizza, loacl barber and calander from 2003 magnets we've got going on! I'd love it you'd link them to my Pinned It, Made It! party tomorrow! Its my first one and I am super excited :) http://findingmywayintexas.blogspot.com/

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Now I'm pinning yours to do. And I thought when I saw yours and before I'd read "I wonder if I could just use scrapbook paper instead?" Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of creating what we pin. I have done just a few pin-it / do-it...
