I did something a little crazy. But I am SO excited about it.
See, I have this problem (the black shelves with the pink and green boxes on them in the back of the pic):
And I have this beautiful fabric:
But unless I want to go with my usual method of making stuff - iron on seaming (!) - I will need something to make curtains to put all that awesome fabric to good use.
AAhhhh! I just bought a sewing machine. Necessity is the mother of invention right? By the way, I had a very scientific method to selecting my new machine. Follow closely... go to Amazon, type in sewing machine, think "ohmygosh why are there so many sewing machines?", pick the first one because it has good reviews and someone said it was easy to use and good for a first timer, and then buy it.
This is why it is so crazy: I don't know how to sew. Like at all. I have previously bought a sewing machine, got it out, tried to use it, totally FAH-reaked out on it, boxed it back up, and returned it. Then I used iron on seaming to make stuff. Real classy and fancy-like.
So I guess you could call the sewing machine commitment #3. I have cancelled my cable, I am majorly reworking my craft room, and now I have bought a sewing machine. Oh yeah, and a pretty sewing book:
'Cause it was pretty. And 20% off at a Border's going out of business sale.
So if anyone wants me to sew them something and they like things that are lopsided and probably not even usable, then you have found your lady!
If anyone needs me I will be watching YouTube videos on how to thread a sewing machine.
