card trio

Often when I make cards, I make a few that look similar. There are a few reasons for this. One is because a couple pieces of 12x12 cardstock go a long way on little cards and I don't want to waste any paper. I know once I put the leftover paper in my "scrap" drawer, chances are I won't see it for a while, if ever (a shame, I know). Another reason is that I will already have gathered everything that "matches." Plus, by the time I have created one or two cards, my room is usually a mess and I might as well keep going :)

So, these are three cards I made using 2 pieces of 12x12 coordinating patterned paper, a couple pieces of 8.5x11 cardstock, and some stamps and embellishments.

Here is one of the first cardmaking tips I ever learned (and one of my favorite!): One 8.5x11 piece of cardstock cut in half makes two perfect A2 size cards. Easy!!

Ok, enough rambling. Here is the first one, a "hello" card:

The next card is a "just because" card:

The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. I added the gems. I love how they turned out.

The last of the set is a blank card, but I think it is my favorite. I love the simplicity:

And a picture of all of them together:

Hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions about supplies or how I did something, I would love to help!

My first post!

After lots of debating and some prodding from Anderson, I have decided to start a blog about the stuff I make! Alot of times I make cards or other things to give away, and I don't have record of what I created. So, I am excited to share my creations, and hopefully keeping a blog will motivate me to spend more time working on stuff to share.

Hope you enjoy!
